Welcome to
MUSIC for the MEMORY!

Music for the Memory sessions are now online, each Monday at 10.30 am, for all our members to enjoy from the comfort of their homes.

We provide fun, free weekly sessions for those with dementia and memory issues.
No singing experience necessary.

Our singing sessions include a warm welcome, physical and vocal warm-up, and songs from our MFTM Songbooks.  The sessions are approximately 45 - 60 minutes.

We now offer fortnightly OPEN sessions which include singing and a mini music quiz.
To these, we invite anyone who may be alone, lonely, or just in need of a good sing!

If you would like to join us please email musicftmemory@gmail.com for information and a link to join our Zoom sessions.

We look forward to singing with you!

It is not necessary to have experience of singing or to read music.  We teach new material together with well-known songs which evoke verbal and emotional memories. New songs will be taught to help challenge and extend skills. Singing stimulates brain activity and enables people to express themselves, feel positive and make new friends.

When the covid restrictions all the two groups will meet on alternate Mondays either at Battle or Wannock. The Cross in Hand sessions meet on alternate Fridays.

The groups attract between 20-40 local people to the venues. The sessions last       1 1/2 – 2 hrs and include a refreshment break which offers the opportunity to have fun, socialise, share and discuss experiences and difficulties and will thus provide support to carers as well as the cared for person.
